Grants Manager Position

 Responsible for working closely with the Executive Director and Senior Managers to identify grant opportunities to expand current programs and initiate new programs fulfilling Family Service Society of Yonkers (FSSY) mission.   The position is responsible for development, update, and maintenance of a complete grant index, especially focusing on delivering applications, renewals, on-time reports, and any other requirements inherent in existing and new Federal, NY State, Westchester County, local government, and private grants or contracts.  The Grants Manager prepares and maintains annual contracts for existing and new funding sources for all FSSY programs.

 

Essential Functions:

1.     Research and investigate grant opportunities from corporate, foundation, public and private funders. 

2.     Make recommendations to the Executive Director for funding opportunities that fit the FSSY mission.

3.     Responsible for writing, editing and completion of submission packages of Federal, NY State, Westchester County, local City of Yonkers, and private grant applications.

4.     Responsible for contract preparation and submission of approved grants.

5.     Work with Senior Managers to oversee existing grants and contracts to ensure compliance with their terms and conditions, including required budget modifications.

6.     Responsible for internal and external follow up upon award receipt.

7.     Manage the completion of periodic and annual reports as required by each Federal, NY State, and Westchester County, local City of Yonkers and private grants or contracts in coordination with program staff.

8.     Maintain and manage internal grants database.

9.     Responsible for funder relations and grants related queries as needed.

10.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s Degree required (Liberal Art’s discipline recommended) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in grant writing and/or grant management or Master’s Degree preferred in a related field with 1 year of experience in grant writing and/or grant management

·       Demonstrated experience and expertise in writing competitive grant proposals or research and/or evaluation reports

·       Experience with contract management systems

·       Proven ability to track and manage several projects and processes simultaneously

·       Highly effective oral and written communicator

·       Exceptionally motivated, organized and detail-oriented; team player with a willingness to help where required

·       Ability to work both under supervision and independently

·       Professionalism and discretion

·       Personal Computer skills, including MS Office Word, Excel, presentation and internet-based research experience
